This is unusual and I have never dealt with this.
My Severn have spawn and the fry are free swimming and are about twice the size of a gnat right now.

They have laid eggs again, two days ago. My experience has been that they will raise one set of fry at a time. If you keep the fry in the same tank they will let them get to about 3/4 of a inch and then lay again. But when they do this they are very aggressive and protective with the new fry and will kill the larger fry.

Do you think that the parents will kill the first batch of fry that are twice the size of a gnat and should I just try to fish out the first batch of fry ( which will be easier said then done)?

Oh, if anyone is interested in some green Severn fry let me know.

Mark

Mark,

I have the extra tank space if you want me to foster them for you. I hatch BS everyday so they would be well fed.

I pulled the fry last night. It looks like they have already made a snack out of some of the babies.

Give me a call if you want me to raise them or if you need microworms.

Dave
I have them in outside tanks and will be looking at a stock tank for them.
I am ok for now.
