Blue Gourami spawn Empty Blue Gourami spawn

Post  randywoowoo Mon Jan 02, 2012 8:09 pm

It has been 10 days since the Blue Gourami Mark loaned me have spawned. The fry are free swimming and seem to be doing well for the most part. There have been some dead fry over the last few days. Is this normal? I still have what looks like a thousand fry swimming around. I did what I could to remove the dead fry without pulling out any live babies. Anyway, I have been feeding 2 small pinches of a fine powdered food Mark provided for me, and the water temp is right at 80 degrees. When will they be able to eat baby brine shrimp? Is it important to provide light to the tank? What is the growth rate for gourami fry? Wow, I'm really full of questions. This is my first attempt at raising Gourami fry, so any and all help will be appreciated.

Thank you
Randy

Feed often but watch the water quality. They should be able to take Brine Shrimp after a few days. Better giving them the shrimp too early than too late.
